Janmashtami is the joyful celebration of Lord Krishna's birth. Major celebrations of Krishna Janmashtami takes place at midnight as Krishna is said to have made his divine appearance in that hour. Fasting, bhajans, pujas and many other rituals mark Janmashtami celebrations in India. Janmashtami is also known as Gokulashtami, Krishnasthami, Srijayanti. Krishna Ashtami is observed on the eighth day, Ashtami tithi, of the dark half or Krishna Paksha of the month of Shraavan in the Hindu calendar. Celebrate this holy day with your friends, relatives and loved one by sending scraps, paintings, images, greetings, comments through Facebook, Twitter, orkut, mysapce, tagged, hi5 and other social networking websites. Sri Krishna is considered as the eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu's on earth. He is considered to be the Lord's most glorious incarnations. Krishna's birthplace Mathura and Vrindavan celebrate this occasion with great pomp and show. Raslilas or religious plays are performed to recreate incidents from the life of Krishna and to commemorate his love for Radha.
